An ebony-haired teenager sat deep in the shadows of an abandoned alley, ignoring the brightly colored graffiti and various posters plastered across the alley's narrow walls and the small pin pricks of frozen fire that dotted the canopy of night sky above him. Eyes closed, Sasuke was deep in thought about the most recent rumor sweeping the town; that Itachi was dead. He didn't believe a word of it.
My brother massacred the whole clan. There's no way in hell anyone could kill him. There's just the matter of where he is, Sasuke thought to himself. His pale fingers absent-mindedly fingered the cursed seal of heaven, tracing the black pattern marring his skin. He was so lost in thought about where Itachi could be hidden, he hardly noticed the sound of approaching footsteps.

Memories...memories...memories
Sakura walked down sidewalk walking slower than usual. People were walking past her. She was totally out of it. She couldn't see where she was going. She just wanted to see his face. His face. One more time. Then, she would be able to say good bye. She had grown up a lot. She wasn't so obsessed of him. She was past that stage in her life. She was just in love and she couldn't get over it. She's been like that since she was a child. " Why me? Why can't I just...get over him?" she asked herself.
In this world you tried Not leaving me alone behind
She stopped in front of a abandoned alleyway. Its walls were covered with graffiti. She looked at it. She saw a figure sitting within the shadows. She stared at it closely and realized it was Sasuke. She smiled. She began to take a step when she stopped herself. She froze. She hugged herself trying to force herself to move. But she couldn't. She was frozen between two sides. Just leave him alone. He wants to be left alone she thought. She couldn't move. Why? There's no other way I'll pray to the gods: let him stay [/blockquote]

Hideki ambled slowly through the roads, watching his the floor carefully as to see where he was going. He found this easier and more reasonable than actually looking up ahead of him, since he'd see the feet of whoever was walking in front of him as well as any type of coin he could pick up or stray animal he could avoid.
The adolescent paused as he caught the slightly familiar sight of black boots and came to a halt. He lifted his head, gray orbs shining expectantly. Short-cut pink hair tied with a red headband on top, sleeve-less red dress with dull pink arm-warmers. . . . Though he couldn't see her face, as he was behind her, Hideki was sure that this was the one. This was the one Haruno Sakura he met before, right?
He was about ready to call out to her when he realized how troubled her stance was. She seemed stiff, almost frozen in time, almost huddled up though she was standing as if trying to reassure herself of something. So, instead of calling out for her, Hideki reached his hand up. His fingers twitched away slightly at first, doubting if he was allowed to reassure her, but grew more confident when he realized that she needed to snap out of his frozen state. The thirteen-year-old genin tapped her shoulder lightly, face firm.

Sasuke raised his head as he noticed the sweet scent of perfume wafting toward him from the alley's entrance. It was hard to see in the darkness of the alley, but he recognized the pink hair and slim figure of Sakura. Cold gaze fixed on her, he waited silently.
He was taken by surprise when another shinobi -a genin probably- walked up to Sakura and placed his hand on her shoulder. Becoming slightly uneasy around the two ninja, who were just standing there silently, he hauled himself to his feet with a scowl. "What do you want?"

I hate everything about you...
The demon fox vessel crouched on the nearby wall. His eyes, a deep blue, scanned around, his kunai drawn, flashing a warning signal in his hand that only a true ninja could understand. He squinted; there are people ahead. He could feel the chakra flow. He blinked. That gray haired kid...Hideki! He grinned. That one reminded him of himself from so long ago...that person that was so hyperactive, so sure of himself...but ever since Sasuke left with Orochimaru's group, he was never too cautious, never too sure, never too confident...confidence gets in the way now...
He blinked. Pink hair, soft pink hues on her shirt and pants...Sakura-chan. He pocketed his kunai. These were all his friends, he wouldn't need a kunai to use against them...Sakura especially. He knew she found him annoying, but he never let that deter him from his dreams of becoming the greatest ninja ever.
Why do I...love you...?
An ebony haired ninja. Naruto's happy go lucky grin suddenly vanished and turned into a frown. Sasuke... he thought, feeling his teeth grit together and his fists clenching so hard he made marks in his palms from his nails. Sasuke, the reason for everything, his friend, his enemy...he would never lose to him again...ever...no, not ever...
Every time we lie awake...
He hopped down from his crouched position on the wall and jumped from treebranch to wall to building before he was standing directly on top of the three, using his chakra to hang upside down from a treebranch. He folded his arms and grinned. "What's up, guy--oh..." he started, then, feeling the somber attitude of the party, he blinked and grew silent, his mind wondering what happened, what was wrong... ((So now the post'll go Sasuke, Sakura, Hideki, Sasuke, Naruto and repeat itself, right?))
Sasuke clenched his fist in frustration and turned to glare at the inverted Naruto. He opened his mouth to deliver a scalding message to the blonde-haired shinobi, then decided against it and turned his back on the threesome of ninja violating his space. "What do you want?" He repeated through clenched teeth, hand moving instinctively to the pouch of shurikin strapped to his leg.

The memories ease the pain inside
She quickly looked to see the owner of the hand to be the kid she met recently. She breathed out. Her body qluenched up again when Sasuke asked want she wanted. " I want you," she muttered under her breathed hardly audible. She turned and began walking, but she didn't make it far. There a pointed gate with the grass growing through the bars. She fell to the ground. She held herself. She felt so cold. So alone. Nothing seemed to be healed anymore. Everything was bleeding. She was bleeding on the inside. Nothing would heal it. Now I know why Tears began building up, but she wouldn't let them fall. She wanted to, but she wouldn't. She's a chuunin now. She has to learn to suck it up and not let anyone know. It was too painful for her. How Sasuke had her heart in the palm of her hand and now it was crushed. Delicate and broken. Nothing could heal it. No one. Love. Nothing. Everything was gone from her life. Everything was destroyed and nothing could happen. All of my memories [/blockquote]

"Ah, Uzumaki-san . . . !" Hideki greeted his idol, lifting the hand that was previously on Sakura's shoulder in a wave. He'd seen other ninjas hang from walls in that fashion and he knew how to do it, but he still needed to practice if he wanted to really stay hanging on something for more than five seconds. Then, his fingers twitched again, breaking him from his thoughts, as Sakura twisted away and started plodding away in the way a person who wanted to get away would move. "Haruno-san," he murmured softly, grey eyes dulling slightly with sadness. He could feel the tension between the three former teammates. It was obvious that something had gone wrong in the past. . .

Sasuke watched as Sakura walked away, dark eyes unreadable and giving no clue as to the the inner turmoil the ebony-haired teenager was facing. "What are you doing!?" One part of his mind cried out, "Sakura needs you!!" "What are you talking about," the other side sneered, "You never cared about her before this. Why start now? Besides, you have Naruto." The mental argument continued like this, the two sides of his mind disputing and with Sasuke's emotions caught in the crossfire.
Absorbed in his mental conflict, Sasuke didn't even remember that he was surrounded by others until Hideki called out a greeting to Naruto. Snapping back into reality, the ebony-haired teenager's expression morphed from day-dreamy back to his customary mask of indifference.

After every hit we take...
Naruto narrowed his eyes, quite confused. His normally happy aura was being invaded with the fumes of old issues and past reflections. He blinked and folded his arms in a slight frown. Sakura-chan seemed tormented by old feelings...he huffed through his nose. Sasuke...it was always Sasuke's fault...he had caused the threesome so much pain already...why in the hell would he continue to dig deeper, make the wounds bleed again? He truly felt sorry for Sakura, his own past feelings disappeared, but a strong, mutual friendship lingering. It probably wouldn't go anywhere. He could feel the pain she felt; it radiated from her body as she trudged away.
All the feelings that I get...
Hideki had laid a kind hand upon her shoulder, now shaking. He swallowed thickly, his brows furrowing into a knot. She makes it so obvious, why wouldn't Sasuke do anything?
But then, a fiery hot jealousy went through him. Sasuke and Sakura...and the weird thing was that he wasn't jealous of Sasuke...he was jealous of Sakura... He clenched his teeth together. The feelings he had for Sasuke, they had been buried in the sand for a long, long time, but his return and other events were the final winds to unearth the long-hidden love he had for his friend and rival. He looked away sadly, feeling suddenly as if he had intruded on a very private moment. He made no move to get away, however.
But I haven't missed you yet... [/blockquote]
